Otamere Guobadia:
''Mullins' desirous paintings feature exquisite forms- striking, sensual, ostensibly queer figures and exaggerated forms which foreground some essential and gorgeous truth about their subject matter. They evoke something reminiscent of Robert Cruikshank's ruthless caricatures of high - society dandies, though without seeking to demean his subjects through their embodiment. Rather Mullins' practise is an adoration of the body- the body entangled, the body enraptured, the body liberated.''

ABOUT
Mullins started with little doodles and scrawlings as a child, growing up he was never far from a piece of paper and a pencil. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Womenswear design from the London College of Fashion he moved into illustration before leaping into fine art. Patrick’s practice focused on abstract large scale figure drawings that developed into oil painting upon his move to Berlin in 2023. Self-taught in painting, he is distinctive for his otherworldly figures. Developing supernatural proportions in androgynous expression, extravagance and sexual liberation citing J.C. Leyendecker, Erte and Jacques Des Bascher as influences. Patrick is evolving his work to dissect and analyze the meaning of these subjects in the real world and what they mean for society. Expanding the extravagant world he carves and bringing his larger than life bodies back down to earth.
