'Ruin me, Pretty Please.'

Exploring the dichotomy between poetry and imagery 'Ruin me, Pretty Please.' is a Non-Linear Polyptych of illustrations and accompanying poem, each frame depicting a line of the poem. Conjuring a reimagining of a dysfunctional Dominant/ submissive relationship the artist experienced. Through fashion, posed bodies and imagery of fetish and kink the series aims to display the complexity of power dynamics within a sado masochistic relationship, the desire for self destruction and the intoxicity of infatuation unreciprocated. Framed from the point pf view of the dominant, the submissive is depicted in almost absurd extravagance and affected gestures throughout, as the dominant is left unseen, only his hand or feet being seen. Playing into the tension of the poem of the submissive wanting more and the reluctancy for the dominant to open up.
